Foodbank & Community Centre Manager (Part-Time, Fixed Term)

Godalming Minster is seeking a compassionate and organised Foodbank & Community Centre Manager to lead and develop two vital expressions of Christian service within the local community. Based at Godalming Minster Franklyn Road (St Mark’s Church and Community Centre) in Godalming, this is an exciting opportunity for a practising Christian who is passionate about mission, community engagement, and supporting those in need.

Hours: 18 hours per week – arranged over 3 days including 9am–3pm, Monday and Wednesday.
Salary: £25,000–£28,000 FTE (depending on experience and qualifications)
Contract: 12-month fixed term (with anticipated extension)

About the Role

This varied and rewarding role combines leadership of the Minster’s Foodbank ministry with coordination of the Franklyn Road Community Centre and support for building operations. The successful candidate will ensure the Foodbank provides a welcoming, dignified, and Christ-centred service while helping shape its future development. You will oversee referrals, stock management, volunteer coordination, and relationships with donors and partner agencies, while also supporting fundraising and community engagement initiatives.

Alongside this, you will help manage the day-to-day running of the Community Centre, including bookings, local partnerships, and community activities. Working as part of the Minster’s Operations and Administration team, you will help ensure the Centre is a vibrant, well-managed space that supports the church’s wider mission and outreach.

The role also includes supporting building compliance and operational oversight, ensuring the site meets health and safety standards and remains welcoming and well maintained.

About You

You will be a practising Christian, comfortable expressing your faith through service and mission. You will bring experience in community or social action work, strong organisational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to support vulnerable people with compassion and sensitivity. Experience with volunteers, administration, and basic financial processes is essential, alongside good IT skills and emotional resilience.
