A warm welcome to our guest speakers from the Guildford Besom at all services today. To support our chosen Christmas charity and the work they do with local families, please look out for gift envelopes in all services.
Given the serious situation in the UK Simon has written a special Christmas Rector’s Reflection which relates to Brexit which may be of comfort for some. Go to www.bhcgodalming.org/rectors-reflections.
A team, led by Andrew Dunn, this week met with representatives of the diocese regarding the clergy post for Hambledon. We are pleased to report that there has been significant progress which will be explained in full at the January PCC meeting (for a final vote on the matter). The progress is such that we hope to advertise immediately after the January PCC meeting. Preparation work on Mervil Bottom is underway. If you would like more information please speak to Andrew Dunn, David Jenkins, Liz Cooke or Alan Harvey.
There is a Carol Service taking place in Busbridge Church on Monday December 17th commencing at 2.30pm. The service is hosted by Prime Time, but it is an event that anyone is welcome to attend regardless of age! Maybe the timings of the Sunday carol services the day before just don’t work for you this year or you are a parent or grandparent of one of the BJS children who will be performing in the choir that afternoon during this service or maybe you just can’t get enough of carols? Whatever the circumstances, do come and join us for the afternoon. Expect a carol service with a traditional format, including a mix of both secular and religious readings. The service will be rounded off with mulled wine and mince pies. For further details contact the Church Office or email primetime@bhcgodalming.org.
Willing hands needed to serve refreshments after the Busbridge Evening Carol Service. If you can help please email Clare Haddad - clarehaddad@aol.com ASAP.
Congratulations to Laura, Michael and Toby Todd (Busbridge) on the safe (but slightly early) arrival of Arthur Albert Todd. Great news!
Calling all musicians and singers! We are looking for musicians and singers to step forward and join our fantastic worship team. We are looking for instrumentalists, both classical and contemporary, and singers to help us to continue to build on musical worship across all services within the benefice as well as worship evenings and Church events. If you are interested in getting involved please contact Lisa, detailing which congregation you are part of and which instrument you play or if you are a vocalist. Email lisa.olsworth-peter@bhcgodalming.org.
Please note there is NO Hambledon Prayer Breakfast on 15th December.
The Alpha course starts on January 9th in the Old Rectory. Please be praying and thinking about who you could invite; invitation cards are available in all services.
