Sunday 20 October 2019

Welcome to Arthur & Rory and Isabelle who come for baptism at Busbridge today, and to their family, godparents and guests.

‘Once Only’ Confirmation session
We are delighted that there is enough interest in the ‘Once Only’ Confirmation session on the afternoon of Sat 9 Nov, 1.30pm-5.30pm at The Old Rectory. If this interests you please contact Simon Taylor. There are about 4 spaces left as we don’t want it to be too large a group for good discussion to happen. Please support those Confirming their Christian faith by praying for them.

Remembrance Sunday, 10 November
The morning services at each church combine for Remembrance: 10am at Busbridge, and 10.30am at Hambledon.  At Busbridge, there will be children’s activities in the Old  Rectory, but no Sunday School groups.  (Busbridge 8am Quiet and 6.30pm will take place as usual).

Sound people needed for all congregations.
Before it all goes quiet….the number of your fellow congregation members operating the microphones and speakers has dwindled to an unsustainable level, and we need to recruit for all services.  Operating the sound system in both churches is easier than you might think, and training and lots of encouragement will be provided!   Please speak to Lisa Olsworth-Peter or Luke Taylor in Contemporary, Richard Morris and Michael Stubbs in Busbridge church, and Derek Pearsall in Hambledon. Or                     e: lisa.olsworth-peter@bhcgodalming.org.

Hambledon Ladies Breakfast, 9 November
The Hambledon Ladies’ Breakfasts take place at West Surrey Golf Club and feature a guest speaker to accompany the generous golf club breakfast.  Penny Naylor will be speaking about her calling to Older People’s Ministry, and the importance of providing for people in the later stages of life.   Tickets (£8) are available from the Hambledon Village Shop from 21 October to 5 November.

Jam Together 2 - next date Sunday 17 November . 2.30-5pm—Register Now!

Jill Johnston will be running a craft workshop at our meeting on Thurs 7 November, a chance for us to create some special Christmas crackers! Please bring your own little gifts to make the crackers more personal for your family or friends.  Jill will need to know numbers so she can order the kits in good time, so please let her know straight away if you’d like to join us for this fun evening: jill.johnston60@btinternet.com or 422194. There will be a small charge to cover the cost of materials. We look forward to seeing you at 8pm in Busbridge Old Rectory and we’ll have a drink and nibbles before we begin our creativity.  All are very welcome!

The Busbridge Church Centre is clear—with huge thanks to all who helped move all the equipment and resources this week.  Everything we have is now catalogued and available for use by all our ministries.  This has been no small feat, and Liz Gorst and Michael Stubbs in particular deserve a huge pat on the back for their perseverance.
