Godalming Minister was created in January 2024 out of an exciting vision to bring together four churches across three parishes to better serve the town of Godalming and the surrounding area.
The Minster currently encompasses the full range of worship styles from 1662 BCP and traditional choral to more contemporary and charismatic. Our congregations are working through a time of change and consolidation into one culture with a common vision of following Jesus, loving people and renewing faith. Our priorities within this vision are to deepen discipleship, mission and evangelism, and growing younger.
We seek a Rector who is:
deeply rooted in Scripture, passionate about the work of Jesus and His Holy Spirit, and enthused about the power of prayer
an articulate and inspiring communicator, gifted to teach and preach the Word of God in services with a variety of preferred worship styles
an active listener with a pastoral heart, able to offer a welcome to all, connect with the diversity of our traditions and shape a healthy church culture
a visionary leader, able to lead a large team across four locations, delegate, identify leaders and develop them in their gifts and calling
a mission-minded leader who can help us look outward and develop effective ways to share the gospel with those in our town who do not know the love of God
an individual with a heart to further develop our work with youth and children
