House for Duty: Sundays + two weekdays (or equivalent)
Come and help us evolve a community focused ministry in the beautiful rural setting of Hambledon, Surrey.
As Associate Minister for Hambledon, you’ll have the opportunity to develop the church’s ministry and mission within a special village setting, while being part of the staff team and wider church community of Godalming Minster.
Central to the role is team spirit: encouraging people to participate, developing gifts and raising new leaders. We’re looking for someone who can build relationships, spot potential opportunities and help the congregation grow in confidence and purpose.
St Peter’s, Hambledon is one of four Godalming Minster locations, across which regular congregations embrace a rich variety of traditions – from 1662 BCP and choral worship to contemporary, classic and charismatic expressions. Across the Minster, average Sunday attendance is around 300, with many more people involved through our outreach and community activities. We’re open to new forms of worship and want people to find a spiritual home where they can encounter Christ and grow in faith.
As a Minster, we are intentionally pursuing a vision of becoming Deeper, Bolder, Brighter: to go deeper in our faith and discipleship; to become bolder in sharing the Gospel; and to shine brighter in our community.
If you’re excited by the opportunity to develop a distinctive rural ministry, build teams and leaders, and play your part in the wider life and mission of a growing Minster, we’d love to hear from you.
Please see the Parish Profile & Role Description for full details about the role. If you would like to have an informal conversation please contact the Rector, Chris Lion on 01483 421267 or chris.lion@godalmingminster.org.
