St Peter’s Hambledon dates back to 1301 but the church was completely rebuilt in 1850. The church is at the end of Church Lane, with an extensive open churchyard, ancient yew trees, and magnificent views towards the surrey hills and the Greensand Way.
The congregation gathers at 10am on Sundays, and for morning prayer on Wednesdays. There’s a monthly coffee morning and hearing aid clinic in the church room, and the church remains very much at the heart of village life. Evensong takes place two or three times during the year, with a village choir leading our worship.
Visitors are welcome to pop in and enjoy a time of peace in this charming village church with traditional features.
Hambledon Church is open daily from 9-4 in winter, and 5.30 in summer.
Parking is available on Church Lane – please observe the markings, and be aware that there’s limited turning space where the road finishes and the bridleway starts. Additional parking for large services is available in the paddock opposite the churchyard. Please consider the recent weather and be prepared for a little mud. Cars have been known to get stuck, and high heels ruined!
