We value our connections with local schools and are dedicated to supporting children and young people in their spiritual development. Our ministry team engages with schools in the area to foster a love for God and encourage the exploration of faith through various activities and resources. This offers families a basis for forming their own moral, ethical and spiritual frameworks.
Founded by the church in 1867, BJS operates under a Rector and Churchwarden Trust, ensuring education is rooted in the Church of England. The school playground was purchased in 1944 by the church to ensure that it remained accessible to the school.
Today, Minster staff and the clergy provide PSHE support and weekly assemblies. There are several services a year in the church or school hall, and as one of our church schools, pupils get the first chance to sign up for our most popular seasonal events: the Easter Garden Service and Egg Hunt, Summer Holiday Club, Light Party, and Christmas Eve services.
The Rector and other church members serve on the Governing Body, providing spiritual support to children, staff, and parents. BJS regularly receives an ‘Outstanding’ rating for its Religious, Moral, and Spiritual inspection (SIAMS).
Busbridge Infant School, established in the 1960s, maintains a strong relationship with the Minster. The school visits the church to learn about religious buildings. There are Easter, Harvest, Christmas and the Reception class start of school celebrations at our Brighton Road Busbridge location.
Originally founded on the site of Moss Lane school in Godalming town centre, St Mark’s and All Saints moved to its present location in the 1960s. The school operates under a Rector and Churchwarden Trust, ensuring the school is rooted in the Church of England.
Minster clergy and volunteers provide RE lessons, PSHE support and weekly assemblies. There are several services a year in the Minster’s Franklyn Road site. The Minster runs a weekly youth club at Franklyn Road for St Mark’s and All Saints’ children.
Located in Hambledon, the church clergy offer ongoing support to the staff and pupils. There’s a regular pastoral care and prayer meeting with the staff.
Originally a Church of England school, Hambledon Nursery continues its founder, the Rev Bullock’s, legacy of community involvement, with church trustees ensuring ongoing support and connection. There are regular visits to the nursery school by church staff and the children have great fun visiting our Hambledon location for several events in the year.
