The Electoral Roll is the register of its voting members and allows you to play a full part in the life of the parish. As a member, you can attend and vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting – this year on Weds 20 May 7pm at Godalming Minster Church Street.
Every year the Electoral Roll is revised a few weeks before the APCM. If you would like your name to be added to the Roll in time for the APCM, you must apply by Sunday 26 April.
How do I apply to be added to the Electoral Roll?
Paper forms should be popped in one of the red boxes to be found at the back of each church by 26 April.
IMPORTANT:
People on the Electoral Roll which started in 2025 do not need to complete a form this year. If you are not sure if you are on the Roll or not, please get in touch with the Electoral Roll Officer, Hilary Reeve, at and she’ll let you know. My ChurchSuite users can also check the “Additional information” in My Details.
It is your parish church’s register of electors. It is the list of those qualified to attend and to vote at the Annual Parochial Church Meeting where the elections take place for:
Any person entitled to attend the Annual Parochial Church Meeting may raise any question of parochial or general church interest. By enrolling you become a voting member of the Church of England and so help to ensure that all the Synodical councils of the Church – the PCC, the Deanery Synod, the Diocesan Synod and the General Synod – are fully representative of its members. Synodical government gives an opportunity for partnerships between bishops, clergy and laity in the life of the Church. The system is intended to enable church people at every level to be in touch with the Church as a whole and to play their part in decision making. The system is also intended to ensure that the laity have their place in every aspect of church life, including its doctrine and services.
The information you provide on this form will be kept until the expiry of the Roll (spring 2031) or earlier should you wish to be removed from the Roll. Please notify the Electoral Roll Officer if your details need updating.
