Need to hire a space for a regular or one-off event? The facilities at Franklyn Road Community Centre and the Church and Octagon at Church Street are available to hire for your group or activity.
The Franklyn Road community centre is perfect for exercise classes, parties and other community groups such as table tennis, drumming, book groups, chess and U3A.
The whole centre can be hired for an event such as a fair or a special birthday celebration, or the hall or studio can be booked separately.
The church hall has a cleverly designed altar area which can be closed off to make it a multi-purpose activity space for the community.
The hall is light and spacious and often hired for activities such as keep fit, short mat bowls and pilates.

The standard rate for hire is £20 per hour Mon-Friday, and £21 per hour Friday 6pm – Sunday.
For businesses it’s £22 per hour Mon-Friday, and £24 per hour Friday 6pm – Sunday.

Parties – Minimum booking 3 hours. which includes the use of the kitchen for food prep and serving.
The is an additional £10 charge for bouncy castles and discos to cover electricity.
The studio is a little smaller, light and welcoming with doors onto the garden. It is used by the NHS for special groups as well as toddler groups and a community lunch every Tuesday. With a hatch leading from our fully equipped kitchen, it is popular for children’s parties and workshops.

With seating for approx 350, the church is regularly hired for concerts and school carol services. The church has a William Hill & Son organ and a new AV system was installed in 2023.

The Octagon is accessed through the church. It can be used for exercise classes and by other groups. There’s a small kitchen, toilets and smaller rooms for prayer and counselling.
